Great Diet Plan
Our first day in Brussels, I had the most amazing waffle on earth, covered in chocolate and strawberries and powdered sugar. It puts every other waffle in the world to shame and I said °I may be ruined for waffles forever.°

Then today I ate a sandwich that may have ruined me for all other sandwiches. With perfect buffalo mozzarella. And this goat cheese that is indescribable in its wonderfulness.

And some gelato (I think I have already tried eleven flavors and we have only been in Rome for one day) that has ruined me for ice cream forever.

So I will just eat my way through Europe and then be too spoiled ever to eat again! Perfecto!

Some Final Words
I mean final before I go on vacation, not final ever. When I come back, I am going to Get Serious About Weight Loss, and you won't want to miss that. I will have to Get Serious, as I will have eaten many waffles in Belgium, many poffertjes in Holland, and many gelatos in Rome. Which is where I'm going!

I finally feel non-sick again, thanks for asking. It really took a while before the rattling in my chest went away. Now I have to concentrate on not coming down with the bird flu or getting hit by a bus. Which I am told is the important thing to concentrate on right before leaving for a trip.

Oh yeah, last time I went to Holland I turned Ointy into a travelogue. I don't know that I'll be doing that this time, since I can just log onto Diaryland... but I might! At least I might post about the waffles.

See you in two weeks!

Not Forgotten!
I have not forgotten about Ointy! Nor have I forgotten about my quest for healthitude! But I am leaving for Europe in three days and am frantically trying to make packing lists and print out maps and get my work space ready for the freelancer who is covering for me, and updating my iPod for the trip, and loading some pictures...

That type of thing. I also need to get a birthday weekend entry up sometime within the next couple of days. So... you know. Stay tuned! Thanks for checking in.

Losing Weight
I can finally tell I'm losing weight. Not from exercise, as I haven't been to the gym in days and days. But from watching my food intake carefully. And lying in bed all weekend coughing and sweating. And subsisting on chicken soup, fruit, and cookies. (Not too many cookies.)

I am still not feeling well, so the diet continues. Honestly, I think being sick has less to do with it, and writing down what I'm eating has more to do with it. Because I could easily have eaten a lot more cookies. Somehow cookies are the perfect sick food. I don't really know why.

I'm sorry if this post doesn't make sense. Clearly it's the brain fever talking.

Box Lunch Review
The first of the new "Spa Classics" meals by Lean Cuisine that I haven't liked at all. It's the Chicken Pecan, which looks so good on the box. And the chicken itself seemed high quality. But the sauce it was floating in is clumpy and weird, the rice was gross, the green beans were dry. I had to throw half of it out, honestly. And I'm surprised, because I've liked so many of the other Spa Classics meals so much.

In other news, I still have a chest cold, that makes me cough and wheeze and hack up my lungs whenever I do even the slightest physically exerting thing. I lucked out in the carpool this morning and got dropped off right on the corner where I work, but by the time I had walked half a block uphill I was coughing like mad. So I figure at least I can get back to food journaling and trying to make better choices, so that's where I'm at today.

Random Stuff
#1: I feel like I am developing a cough/cold type of thing, and my man has some kind of horrible flu. I've been getting nine hours of sleep a night and drinking Jamba Juices in the hopes that I don't get struck down as well. So far, so good. But I brought my gym clothes and shoes, planning to work out after work today. Is this A) a good idea, or B) a bad idea? Should you work out when you're feeling a little bleh?

#2: I am trying to cut out sweets today. (Yesterday I had popcorn for dinner and whipped cream for dessert. I also got so excited when they put Coke in our 25-cent soda machine that I had two cans. Sounds like a great nutrition plan, doesn't it?) Anyway the guy selling lunch sandwiches was also selling tiny brownies for 50 cents. I did not buy a tiny brownie. Go me! Go! And I bought a Diet Coke instead of a regular Coke. Two for two!

#3: I saw Flappy in the mirror today. GO AWAY, FLAPPY!

#4: I guess if I want Flappy to go away, I'm going to have to actually, you know, put some effort into it. Like go to the gym, maybe.

#5: Cough cough. Cough. But I'm sick.
